Leather Shaving and Fleshing Blades

Licensed to SRC (Pvt) Ltd (formerly Shafi Reso Chem), a leading manufacturer of chemical products, based in Lahore. The indigenous shaving and fleshing blades developed by Mr. Saheeb Ahmed Kayani, a faculty member at NUST CEME, are low cost, locally fabricated import substitute of international standards. SRC (Pvt) Ltd, has manufactured first batch of leather shaving and fleshing blades as per NUST IPR’s design specifications for trial purposes. These sets of blades have now been commercially deployed for customer’s feedback in different local leather tanneries. After receiving the desired feedback and results, SRC will establish the manufacturing plant in Lahore for mass production of these blades. A successful trial of these blades will lead to mass deployment of these locally manufactured import substitutes and will result in an annual saving of PKR 5 million per firm per year according to a private market survey.
