NUST Establishes China Pakistan Technology Transfer Centre – Signs MOU with Chinese International Technology Transfer Centre in Beijing

NUST signed MoU with the Chinese International Technology Transfer Centre (CITTC) on 11 December 2018 in Beijing. CITTC is a joint project of Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology and Beijing Municipal Science and technology Commission that provides a professional international technology transfer platform between China and other countries across the world. The China Pakistan Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTC) established at NUST, facilitates technology transfer between China and Pakistan, providing soft-landing to companies of both the countries to enter into each other’s markets. The centre acts as a bridge and gateway between the industries and innovative resources of both the countries. Mr Huang Ping, Director of CITTC, welcomed NUST team and highlighted the significance of CPTTC especially under CPEC for industries, Hi-Tech SMEs and startups to transfer technology and establish offices in each other countries. He also informed about CITTC’s existing international linkages with other countries across Europe, US, Australia, Singapore etc that has resulted in tangible outcomes. He envisioned CPTTC to be the bedrock for technology transfer between the two countries, requirement of which has attracted great attention due to increasing emphasis by the new government in Pakistan. The ceremony was also attended by Dr Ata Ur Rehman, Counsellor at Pakistan Embassy on S&T, Mr Ma Minxiang, Dy Dir China-South Technology Transfer Centre and Dr Nassar Ikram, Pro Rector Research & Innovation NUST beside other officials from Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, CITTC, China ASEAN Innovation Centre and Innoway incubator Beijing.
